S800 I/O Communication interfaces – CI845

Select I/O is a single-channel, granular I/O system based on Ethernet networks for the ABB Ability™ System 800xA automation platform. Select I/O minimizes the impact of last-minute changes by separating project tasks and supports the standardization of I/O cabinets, ensuring automation projects are delivered on time and within budget. Signal processing and the reinforcement of the connected field device for one I/O channel are handled by a Signal Conditioning Module (SCM).

The CI845 Ethernet Fieldbus Communication Interface Module (FCI) is responsible for the communication between S800 I/O or Select I/O and the AC 800M controllers. For redundant configurations, two CI845 modules need to be installed in the TU860 or TU865 Ethernet Field Communication Interface MTUs.
