The CPU card includes a microprocessor and RAM memory, a real-time clock, LED indicators, an INIT push button, and a CompactFlash interface.
The baseplate of the PM856A controller houses two RJ45 Ethernet ports (CN1, CN2) and two RJ45 serial ports (COM3, COM4) for connecting to the Control Network. One of the serial ports (COM3) is an RS-232C port with modem control signals, while the other port (COM4) is isolated and used for connecting a configuration tool.
Simple DIN rail mounting/removal operations are carried out using a unique slide and lock mechanism. All baseplates are equipped with a unique Ethernet address, which provides a hardware ID to each CPU. The address can be found on the Ethernet address label attached to the TP830 baseplate.
